Welcome to Ridgeway Health and Wellness Centre

Chiropractor Dr.Mark Blokland first established Ridgeway Chiropractic Clinic in Wroughton near Swindon in 1995. His long-term vision was to create a wellness centre to provide a one-stop holistic centre for his patients. Restricted by space he began by referring to holistic dental surgeon Helen Barnes for patients whose problems were associated with bruxism (tooth grinding), jaw pain and chronic head pains.

For a number of years he looked at alternative sites to allow expansion but in 2006 two events conspired to see the fulfilment of his professional vision. Dr Simon Clarke joined the chiropractic clinic just as the whole of Fairwater Stables became available for purchase. Mark immediately recognised in Simon someone with the skills and drive to work in partnership with him to create Ridgeway Health and Wellness, the centre finally opening in 2007.

Together the two chiropractors were able to fulfil their holistic vision which was crowned by the opening of Ridgeway Health and Wellness Dentistry in March 2009. They recruited Mark's referral colleague Dr Helen Barnes to be Clinical Director, whilst Mark travelled to South Africa between Christmas and New Year 2008 to personally interview six hand-picked surgeons who were keen to be his senior dental surgeon. The choice of Dr Agnieszka Oosthuizen has proved inspired.

When you combine this with the centre's beauty salon, reflexology and Sports and Swedish massage, Dr.Blokland's vision - with the timely intervention of Dr.Clarke - has come a long way in fourteen years.
