We are now pleased to offer a full-sized state-of-the-art rehabilitation centre and gym. Ridgeway runs regular Pilates and 'Stretch & Strengthen' exercise classes that prove extremely popular with clients of all ages.

Pilates is a method of gentle exercises done on a mat in either a sitting or lying down position. The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility. The exercise method is based on the research of Joseph Pilates and involves strengthening the body's 'powerhouse' (abs and buttocks) to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and improve posture. The method involves concentration and the coordination of breath and movement, thereby helping to balance mind and body. Pilates training helps develop a balanced body, which is strong and supple, a flat stomach, toned legs and a strong back.
